How to install Pega Personal Edition

We have explained in separate article how to download Pega Platform personal edition. This article is only specific to installation of Pega Personal edition in your computer.

Note: This Tutorial is referring installation of Pega 7.4 on Windows operating system. Similar step can be following for installation of other Pega versions on Windows

Steps to Install Pega Personal Edition on Windows

1 - Download Pega Platform Personal Edition. If you don't know how then see this post. After download you will get a zip file

2 - Extract Zip file

3 - Click on install.bat file for Windows. Pega Installer will start. It will show you a page of notification to check prerequisites of your computer at which you are installing Pega. On Click on Next It will take you to Pega License Page that you need to accept to Install Pega Personal editon.

4 - Once Pega License is accepted, it will show you list of Items Pega installer is configuring for you. It is recommended to not make any changes in this screen
5 - It will ask for directory to Install Pega. if You don not want to install at default location you can select any directory where you want to install Pega PRPC.
6 - In Next step Pega will ask the port numbers at which Database Server and Tomcat server needs to be used. Click on "Port Availability" to check if ports are available or not. If ports are not available, enter new port number. For Example if port 8080 is not available for tomcat enter 8081.
But always remember the port you are entering at time of installation as this will be need to login to Pega and connection with Database server via database tools
7 - Next you will get a start screen. Click on Start to initiate installation of Pega PRPC. System will notify you once instillation. On Installation you will get 3 icons on your screen. For Starting up server, Login Pega in browser and shutdown server.
